Sanders & Sanders
Another long established shoe brand hailing from Northamptonshire, Rushden to be precise, Sanders Shoes. A prime example of classic British shoe making and a shoe factory typical of it's time. Really nicely lit, lovely people and I was given free reign to wander around. This one is also all on one floor and makes a fantastic range of product including some for other brands.
NPS / Solovair
I was invited to take a look around another of Northamptons long established shoe factories, this time it was NPS Solovair based in the village of Wollaston just up the A45. The factory set all on one floor boasted some nice light coming through from the skylight roof windows and working my way around the different areas I was able to stop and chat as well as snap a few portraits. These images were also used by Noah NYC for an editorial feature they put out.
Crockett & Jones
As part on the on-going Northamptonshire project to take a look inside the world famous shoe factories of the county I was kindly allowed to spend some time on the factory floors of one of the finest shoe manufacturers in the world. Thanks to the team at Crockett & Jones for having me. Images shot mainly on the Pentax 67II medium format film camera.
Recently as part of a project with a client we were able to get an inside look at local Northampton shoe maker Trickers factory. Based discreetly on the edge of town centre I got a look at the brand that's been making quality footwear since 1829.
Recently I was invited by Lee Fleming a good friend and newly appointed head of marketing at British heritage shoe maker Barker Shoes to take a few photos. We spent some time around the factory floor, offices and factory shop on-site and here's some of what we saw.

It is noted for its interior, which was extensively remodelled in 1916 and 1917 by noted architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
NN Factory History
Northampton aka 'Shoe Town' has a rich history in the UK shoe making industry. As a resident i've been lucky enough to meet a few individuals that have told me of the ups and downs of previous years gone by and the brands stories that go with them.
Northampton Society Of Model Engineers
As part of an on-going project focusing on people and their favourite hobbies I visited the Northampton Society Of Model Engineers (NSME) as they kindly showed me some of their prized locomotives. I also met the next generation of enthusiasts as they took a loco out for a run.

Mamiya 7ii Images
A series of images from one of my latest cameras to pickup the medium format 6x7 Mamiya 7ii. Mostly shooting Kodak Porta 400, 800 and some Fujifilm Pro 400h. Quite a few shots from recent time spent on the golden island of Malta.
After knowing Bill from around town for a few years and sharing a mutual love of cycles in a variety of forms I was made up when Bill had some time to throw together a lovely daily clunker built around a Raleigh bomber frame he had lying around. Featuring a Sturmer Srcher internal gear hub and a pedal brake for pulling wicked skids it's a solid street cruiser.
Places - Antwerp
On a road trip back in 2016 with my good friend Lee Fleming we called in to spend a couple of nights in the city of Antwerp.
Aerie was a temporary listening space created by the team behind Anti Social Jazz Club a DJ collective based in the city of Liverpool championing mixed genre musical exploration and experiences. The space consisted of a custom designed sound system and hosted several selectors from across the UK. Here's some shots from my time involved in the project.

A collaborative project made possible by Anti Social Jazz Club a Liverpool based DJ collective and Buyers Club a city centre venue, 'Kinkajou' was a jazz orientated pop-up that ran across 4 nights and saw selectors from all over the city come together. With some stories and a special set from cunard yank the late Ritchie Barton.
